The words pop up unbidden into her head, but somehow she struggles to bite them back, even when he’s giving her that look, combination of playful pretend-anger and puppy eyes.
It’s so easy sometimes.
So easy to flirt with him, to ride the wave of attraction that still curls through her, the heat prickling under her skin when he looks at her like that. To skate the edge of the precipice, get pulled in by that surprisingly vicious current that has already dragged her under and spat her out once.
No. She has a boyfriend. She struggles to recall him. Josh. Cardiac surgeon. Taller than Castle. Lean and handsome and ever so skilled with his hands.
She clings to it like an anchor, but deep down she knows it’s probably not enough. That current will pull her under again, if only because she’s going to want to stop resisting sometime soon.
The thought get stuffed away in the deep, dark recesses of her mind. Not now. She can deal with it later.
Why don’t we meet my partner, huh? Want to meet the rest of my crew?
I love how this show can switch from badass to funny in a moment.
This is a pic that reminds me of my favorite AU I’ve ever plotted.
Still in my WIP file.
sibling!fic I guess it would be called, but different than I’d seen it done. Most of those have a character who is conveniently “away” which never quite works well. I had an OC who was gone for reasons that felt a bit more credible to me. I have about 12 chapters that are wanting revision. She looks young there and it crossed my mind.
Also, thanks for asking! :)
Cool, sounds intriguing. Indeed, the “out-of-the-blue” appearance premise is why I avoid sibling fics. Hope we get to read your alternate take on it some day.
Beckett looking at the camera like it’s Castle’s dick.
Thank you for protecting
the people that I care aboutCastle.
Dat head tilt + eyebrow arch though.
(also the fact she’s stopped feigning interest, put on a dress that makes her look smoking hot and turned up at his book signing…)
